You probably recognize Marisa Tomei for her role as Aunt May in Spider-Man, but her career spans over three decades, with appearances in beloved projects like As The World Turns, A Different World, and the award-winning My Cousin Vinny. While her roles have changed over the years, one thing has remained constant: Her dedication to beautiful skin.

In an interview with Vogue, Tomei shared that her beauty routine starts from the inside out. “Growing up, I was interested in meditation and in grounding myself,” she shared. “That led to how I take care of my body in the best way.” Her approach? Focusing on fueling her body with nutrients that support her sensitive skin, as well as skincare products centered around organic ingredients.

Tomei has broken down her routine in numerous interviews, and its simplicity might surprise you. She doesn’t have an outrageous, multi step routine, nor does she use a ton of fancy products — instead she’s constructed a routine that fits her needs.

The 57-year-old actress starts her everyday routine with water, a shake, and tablets packed with vitamins to nourish her body. She follows it with minimal skincare products, including a drugstore cleanser, moisturizer, and oil. Makeup follows suit, and the actress makes her lashes and brows the center of attention. But she doesn’t eliminate an essential concealer and multitasking blush.

Beauty starts from the inside out.

On the subject of nourishing her body from the inside out, Tomei begins her day with water and a shake that includes kale, ginger, apple juice, and a mixture of berries. With the shake, she also reaches for chlorella tablets packed with vitamin D. “I take Chlorella, especially if I ate something salty or sugary or had a lot to drink because Chlorella is really good for a hangover and all kinds of toxins,” she told Vogue.

She sticks to minimal skincare products.

Being a celebrity doesn’t mean you have to break the bank on expensive products. For years, Tomei has cleansed her skin with the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, which retails for a whopping $11 at most drugstores. On top of being budget-friendly, the gentle cleanser is dermatologist tested and packed with niacinamide to protect, heal, and moisturize the skin. She follows the cleanser up with a hydrating cream and nourishing oil from I-N Beauty.

She’s also a fan of hydrating her body too.

When it comes to hydrating the body, Tomei mentioned that Mutha’s Body Butter is a staple — she applies it to her arms. “While we’re on limbs, I’m a big fan of Lord Jones,” she told Vogue. Her pick? Bump & Smooth CBD Body Serum, paired with the Stiletto Cream, which soothes any pain when wearing heels.

Brows and lashes are the center of attention.

In terms of makeup, the Spider-Man star curls her lashes with a Shiseido Eyelash Curler. She recommends holding it on your lashes for five seconds. To further add volume to your eyes, Tomei layers in Lancôme Monsieur Big Volumizing Mascara.

Brows are also important. “I do deal with my brows now differently — I’ve been trying to grow them in since they were super over-plucked in the ’90s,” she noted. Her product of choice? A liquid pen by Kristie Streicher.

Concealer and blush do the trick.

She also explained to Vogue that she finishes her daily look with a Charlotte Tilbury blush applied to her cheeks and lips. And, to conceal, Tomei adds a Clé de Peau concealer, which she called “liquid gold,” in an interview with Yahoo.
