It’s the all-gold beauty salon that certainly catches the eye on one of Manchester’s busiest arterial routes.
The Glam Master Salon has become something of a landmark on the city’s Princess Road in Fallowfield thanks to its blingy golden exterior.
And for all those who have driven past and wondered whether it’s just as glam inside, then rest assured that luxe theme continues.
There are glitzy golden walls and floors, a full floral wall, and in the basement it even boasts a hot tub party room.

The ladies-only salon has been owned by Shania Raheel for the past ten years and started out as Beauty Club.

But three years ago she decided to take the plunge and re-brand as the Glam Master Salon, and they’ve been turning heads here ever since.
Shania says: “It made such a difference. It got a lot of attention from the start.
“Don’t get me wrong, we have had plenty of haters but I think that’s just jealousy, because some people don’t like it when you start doing something good.
“We went for the all-gold look because we just wanted to make people happy, and I think it really does that.
“We get so many people popping in here saying ‘oh I’ve seen you when I’ve driven past and had to come in’ and that’s what it’s all about.”

Mum-of-three Shania, 35, first started doing beauty treatments from just one room at her home on Princess Road 15 years ago, after making a complete career change from her previous role working in a bank.
Her reputation and clientele grew so swiftly that she knew she needed a dedicated premises, and took over the former hair salon on Princess Road, opposite Whalley Range High School, ten years ago.
Since then, she has gone on to completely transform the business.
The latest investment was the basement spa area – which Shania says makes her the only beauty salon in Manchester to boast a hot tub.
It caters for a minimum of two up to six women for the party area – which includes free fizz or soft drinks and cakes as well as a beauty treatment of your choice for £50 per person.
Shania laughs: “People are so surprised when I tell them what’s in the basement.
“We decided to extend into the basement as it hadn’t been touched down here for 50 years and it was all completed and opened on the same day that lockdown happened so it all had to shut down again.
“But since lockdown eased it has been so busy with hen parties and birthday parties.
“There’s not a single salon in Manchester that has a hot tub in it, so I just thought it’s something a bit different to do for the ladies around here.
“It’s totally private to you when you take out the hot tub package.”
There’s the full spectrum of hair and beauty treatments on offer at the salon, from eyelash extension to massages, facials, laser hair removal and slimming to traditional hair, make-up and nail manicures.

And Shania is proud of what she has achieved so far with her business.
She says: “I’ve worked so hard from a small bedroom in my house where I started from, I’m now a mum of three kids and juggling all that, but the whole community around here in Fallowfield and Withington have really supported me.”
