Donations can make someone's holiday

Radiant Reflections Tanning and Hair Salon, located at 11523 Brooklyn Road, is an official Toys for Tots drop off location. The drop box is located inside the tanning salon for your unwrapped toys and monetary donations, Home Garden USA.

Your Premiere Properties is hosting “The Giving Fence” in front of their office at 11523 Brooklyn Road. “The Giving Fence” has winter gear available for anyone in need this season. Stop by the fence to grab or give.

The Irish Hills Regional Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Christmas Crawl from Nov. 26 through Dec. 17. Just pick up a Christmas list at participating locations, visit each of the 16 participating businesses, make a purchase and then turn your list into the chamber to be entered into a drawing for $500! Family Farm and Home are having a couple of charity drives in their Brooklyn location. In November they will have a sock drive where you can purchase a pair of socks and one to donate. (Look for the bin inside the store). They will also have meat sticks on sale to purchase to donate.

Mark your calendars, the annual Blues Festival is back at the Brooklyn American Legion Post No. 315 from 7 to 11 p.m. Nov. 27. Downtown Brooklyn’s holiday parade will be on Friday, Nov. 26, with festivities starting at 5:30 p.m. and the parade beginning at 7 p.m. Activities include: cookie decorating at Patrone’s Day Spa & Salon, cookies courtesy of Wesco, Christmas stories by Mrs. Claus at Columbia Interiors, hayrides courtesy of Patrone’s Day Spa & Salon, cider and popcorn from Re/Max Mid-Michigan/Brooklyn, doughnuts and warm beverages from Cornerstone Community Church, and Region 2 Area Agency on Aging.

Santa will be at Columbia Interiors after the parade, with gifts courtesy of the Brooklyn Kiwanis Club’s Evelyn Clee. Brooklyn Presbyterian Church will be open for restrooms and baby changing facilities. Enjoy music and performances by Savanna Rose Dance Studio and Cornerstone Community Church Choir.
